Whoever Brought Me Here

All day I think about it, then at night I say it.
Where did I come from, and what am I supposed to be doing?
I have no idea.
My soul is from elsewhere, I'm sure of that,
and I intend to end up there.

This drunkenness began in some other tavern.
When I get back around to that place,
I'll be completely sober. Meanwhile,
I'm like a bird from another continent, sitting in this aviary.
The day is coming when I fly off,
but who is it now in my ear who hears my voice?
Who says words with my mouth?

Who looks out with my eyes? What is the soul?
I cannot stop asking.
If I could taste one sip of an answer,
I could break out of this prison for drunks.
I didn't come here of my own accord, and I can't leave that way.
Whoever brought me here, will have to take me home.

This poetry. I never know what I'm going to say.
I don't plan it.
When I'm outside the saying of it,
I get very quiet and rarely speak at all.

  1. Rumi is one of my inspired muslim poets im do alot on him in my site .HERES ONE IM LOVE TOO DESCENTI made a far journeyEarth's fair cities to view, but like to love's cityCity none I knewAt the first I knew notThat city's worth,And turned in my follyA wanderer on earth. From so sweet a countryI must needs pass,And like to cattleGrazed on every grass. As Moses' peopleI would liefer eatGarlic, than mannaAnd celestial meat. What voice in this worldto my ear has comeSave the voice of loveWas a tapped drum.Yet for that drum-tapFrom the world of AllInto this perishingLand I did fall. That world a lone spiritInhabiting.Like a snake I creptWithout foot or wing. The wine that was laughterAnd grace to sipLike a rose I tastedWithout throat or lip.'Spirit, go a journey,'Love's voice said:'Lo, a home of travailI have made.'Much, much I cried:'I will not go';Yea, and rent my raimentAnd made great woe.Even as now I shrinkTo be gone from here,Even so thenceTo part I did fear.'Spirit, go thy way,'Love called again,'And I shall be ever nigh theeAs they neck's vein.'Much did love enchant meAnd made much guile;Love's guile and enchantmentCapture me the while. In ignorance and follyWhen my wings I spread,From palace unto prisonI was swiftly sped. Now I would tellHow thither thou mayst come; But ah, my pen is brokeAnd I am dumb.Im enjoyed your post immencely and your pictures are awsum I RATED THIS **************
